Checking out the wall poster and dance song CDs in one of the shop @Suam Lum Night Bazaar, Bangkok.
Remind me of good ol' party days. Those days when I spent time downloaded big names dj like John Jigweed (one of my favourite) and Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, Timo Maas and many other house, tech house, progressive house, trance mp3. I did not know much on how to differentiate song of the music genre still, as long as it is a good mix.
Those big names DJ are certainly 'angmoh'. And know what? Malaysian DJ also manage to capture my heart! My most most most most most most most favourite local DJ is 1 male and 1 female.
Male is DJ Gabriel; and female is DJ Desire.
Ei, Malaysian Boleh ok. Both of them are very good, equally compared to those imported one..
(Those days where DJ Gabriel and DJ Desire were already playing in some big clubs, DJ Blink still spinning in one of a shop in Sungai Wang 4th floor. Look at where is DJ Blink now, playing in Zouk!)
I wonder if I could hire both DJ Gabriel and Desire to be my DJ in my private party in the future. Don't care if you guys don't fancy their music, as long as the host does. Hehe.
Those days in late 90s and early millenium years, not many disco clubs available like nowadays. The club I frequent had to be the Jalan Sultan Ismail side, let it be Nuovo, Emporium (later Espanda and later something else), Atmosphere; then Jalan Bukit Bintang's the "Movement" (now an open air carpark for Jalan Alor visitors), and some other clubs in Bangsar which I hardly can recall the names...
Out of all the clubs, "Movement" was my favourite until it got burnt down (due to an accident or insurance claim scheme). Then my clubbing desire also got burnt down. I was there for a few occasion, a new year's eve, a christmas' eve, john digweed's gig and a few more also couldn't remember. I followed Kent Choice gig, some of their events kickass-ed and I remember the open air so called rave party I went @ Genting.
Those days so poor can only afford cover charge with 1 free drink. Either Kampai or beer or a bottle of WATER. Paid RM 50 for a bottle of beer and Kampai... How stupid!!!
Compared to nowadays people can afford few hundred per bottle of liquor. I was like whoa cannot afford for liquor. So I was sober most of the time I partied.
Those days I also very lansi one. I only follow certains DJ or event like Kent Choice' or some rave party organizers which I forgotten the names too.
I did not go much rave parties, mainly due to not many kakis and the only buddy and buddies I went with was with one or two of my girl pals, whom we did not take drugs nor drink excessively. But we did spend time shopping for clubbing clothes. ahha. We would at times go shopping mall hunt for more suitable clothes for the next clubbing night! How crazy!
And those days I did not have much transport access, always have to depend on others to fetch me go clubbing, where I felt like a beggar. That was the down side of not having enough own interest of kakis. None of my same age collegemate, schoolmate, classmate, childhood friend ever join me during my clubbing days. My kakis were from the online chatroom.

Compared with last time, I am more like myself NOW than before. Last time when I was in the club I was too terrified to start dancing but nowadays you can see me dance first and get tired when the dance floor is packed.
LAst time damn shy wan and with all those
geng chau shuffler around I where go dare to dance simply. Those days I just drank a bit and stood nearby the big speaker and move my body like ants pushing me. But inside my heart I wanted to dance my heart out like there's no tomorrow. I was just too self-conscious lah.
Can you imagine last time I went clubbing WITHOUT no make-up at all! Not even blusher. Haha. OMG. No wonder nobody pick me up from club before. Not that people can see me with blusher in the club but at least some eye-liners will make you eyes bigger when you're drunk!
Speaking of clothing, since I used to follow those dance music DJ's gig, only sneakers, loose pants and tank top will do. That time trend was like that very un-woman like like nowadays. Those days sporty looks 'sells better' than wearing one piece dress and high heels. We even laughed at those babes with high heels thinking they sure feel like hell with the high heels. I also sort of like looked down on those babes with high heels that only danced slow sexy moves like they were Emporium Kakis, not like us the Clubbers. Those days they differentiate it so well.
But look at the clubbing trend nowadays, with the popularity of RnB, hip hop, pop songs, I myself also only wear high heels to club. Apparently that is because high heels makes me look better. Simple as that. But both feet still feel like hell!!! The best experience must be my 2nd last visit to Zouk couple weeks ago, I wore my 4 inches Charles & Keith peep toe heels... I hardly can walk to the car after I left the club.
'Sendiri ambil punya...'(direct translate from chinese proverb)That time I had a bf who dream to be a world's well known DJ. So I handmade a turntable using recycle stuff and gave it to him as a birthday gift.
I gave him my support and hoping that he can become a DJ later. I still remembered we even came out a DJ name for him, which was "DJ Niche". Why because he thought his music will only accepted by a niche group of people. He thought it was a good idea. But when I left him, he was still a commis (chef's assistant) in a local Italian restaurant. I was 19 years old.
In between then and now I never been to any rave party no more. I was tied down with so called work, commitments in relationship and so on. If I have fun, easy manage, easy going kakis, I would have go again if there are good ones. Or maybe I shall just go Koh Samui by my own one day, to see if any Angmoh will pick me up or not. Lol.
